Künstlerisches Statement
A man decided to become a tree.
For no reason at all.
He was walking in the park.
He saw the tree
And took off his clothes. Decided to become a tree
Sometimes the wind blew his leaves
Sometimes raindrops fall on his toes
He didn’t want to bear fruit
Then he doesn’t bear fruit
He wants to lose his leaves
He’ll drop his leaves
If one day he decides to stop being a tree
He’ll put on his clothes and leave
Ein Mann beschloss, ein Baum zu werden.
Ohne jeglichen Grund.
Er ging im Park spazieren.
Er sah den Baum
und zog seine Kleider aus. Beschloss, ein Baum zu werden
Manchmal wehte der Wind seine Blätter
Manchmal fallen Regentropfen auf seine Zehen
Er wollte keine Früchte tragen
Dann trägt er keine Früchte
Er will seine Blätter verlieren
Er wird seine Blätter fallen lassen
Wenn er eines Tages aufhören will, ein Baum zu sein
Zieht er seine Kleider an und geht
This is a poetic and ephemeral sculpture made up of bits and pieces – a man who has turned into a tree. We can imagine many myths about his story and speculate about his origins and the sculptor’s intentions, but this tree man cares for nothing, he is just a tree, a tree that belongs to nature, and he appears and disappears without any reason, suddenly, just like every element in nature.
